According to Chief Richard Brady, Gronosky and Williams were charged with the armed robbery of the Carousel Lounge strip club and burglarizing the home of a state trooper in Laflin, Luzerne County.
They got away with about $3,500 in the strip club robbery, according to The Times-Leader newspaper.
On April 15, at 3:06 a.m., Officer Wagner was on routine patrol and observed a vehicle travling north on Route 309 near North Wales Road with the driver side window smashed out.
“A registration check revealed the vehicle was a felony vehicle and the occupants armed,” Brady told supervisors. “Further information revealed that the occupants were wanted for armed robbery and shooting at police.”

“These two individuals were wanted on March 15 for a robbery at Carousel Lounge strip club in Plymouth Township, Luzerne County. It involved a subject utilizing air pistols and they robbed an 81-year-old woman,” Brady said.

Philadelphia Strip Clubs: Celebrity Real Estate

There are those on the scene who well remember developer Tony Goldman from his Philly days, when his tenacity, his moxie, utterly transformed a stretch of the Gayborhood/Midtown Village/Center City East. There were those who mocked him back then, since 13th Street was dominated by prostitution and strip clubs, and it was pretty hard to imagine a thriving neighborhood dubbed B3 would take its place. (The name B3—for Blocks Below Broad—didn’t take its place anywhere because it was unbearably dumb.) Basically speaking, Goldman did a bang-up job with 13th Street, despite the New York Times calling it one of Goldman’s “losing propositions” in 2000.
From the Times: Mr. Goldman has every intention of lifting the curse off Philadelphia, a shrinking city of 1.5 million people, semifamous for greasy food, high taxes, a surfeit of bricks, a dearth of style and a lack of news. In five years, he says, Philadelphia could be the Paris of the Northeast… And damn if we aren’t the Paris of the Northeast ri …
Pa. stripper: Butt enhancement damaged lungs
PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia woman dubbed “the Black Madam” used silicone from Thailand and Krazy Glue to perform at-home cosmetic surgery that left an exotic dancer with a plump derriere — and potentially deadly complications, the dancer testified Wednesday.
Padge Windslowe charged $1,000 to perform injections on a dining room table at “pumping parties,” 23-year-old Shurkia King testified. But King suffered severe respiratory problems afterward and spent two weeks in the hospital. A doctor testified that he found silicone particles on her lungs that could have killed her.
A judge Wednesday order Windslowe, 42, to stand trial on charges that include aggravated assault, practicing medicine without a license and theft by deception.
Police believe Windslowe also injected 20-year-old London tourist Claudia Aderotimi, who died last year after a pumping party at a Philadelphia airport hotel. Aderotimi complained of chest pain and difficulty breathing following the procedure. No charges have been filed in that case as detectives await extensive autopsy test results.
Philadelphia Strip Clubs: Facelift, or just a mask? County pondering what to do about Echelon Place site
May 13, 2012
Well, is it an eyesore or a reminder to remember that if something appears too good to be true, it typically is?
It’s a reminder, sure. But the Strip is no place for an empty, hulking mass of steel and concrete.
What do commissioners have to do with it?
Boyd is asking for a second extension of time for three use permits and one design review. The company wants extensions until 2018. County staff recommends giving the extension of time “given the current state of the economy.”
Extensions of time are rarely denied. But couldn’t commissioners, scheduled to consider the item Wednesday, make the extension conditional, asking Boyd to cover the thing up with one of those mega-stretchy plastic coverings? Something classy. You know, something beyond your standard Vegas advertisement for female revues or male strippers.

Soon to be The Philly Pump House [Photo: Google Maps]
An eagle-eyed tipster (Thanks, Greg!) sent us in this newly-posted liquor license at the corner of Columbus Blvd. and Race Street (across from the new Race Street Pier) that bears the name The Philly Pump House. The application has the name J&J Trestle Inn, Inc., which is tied to John Wigfall, who used to run the 11th and Callowhill Street drinkery when it was a strip club. The current owners of The Trestle Inn have no affiliation with this new project.
With Avram Hornik opening Morgan’s Pier beer garden just down the way, there will be a little something for everyone, and finally bring crowds to a location no one’s cared about, well, ever.
UPDATE: Looks like commenters are saying this will be the year round bar that will be the home for the Philly Live Arts/Fringe Fest. Which means outdoor seating, but no stripping. Thanks for the update!

Philadelphia Strip Clubs: Judgements: While it’s still a QB league, draft proves defense matters

5. Let me get this straight: Jacksonville finishes 5-11, ranks dead last in offense and dead last in passing, yet takes a punter with its first pick of the third round? Someone please explain. “I think that’s an easy decision for me,” said Jags’ GM Gene Smith, “to get a starter in the third round.” Hmmm, last time I checked a punter wasn’t considered a starter. He was considered a punter. Maybe this is a sign that the new offense will look a lot like the old one.
FIVE QUOTES TO REMEMBER
1. “We’re going to be hard to handle in terms of size and physicalness and ball skills with the wideouts we have.” — Chicago GM Phil Emery.
2. “I mean, no, because I never shot up no strip club or nothing like that.” — Janoris Jenkins on if he should be compared to Pacman Jones.
