The 26 contestants — and 127 scantily-clad “Wingettes” (read: strippers) who cheer them on from the stage — enter the arena on a parade-style floats, which most often reference Philadelphia’s sports teams. More than one-third of the floats slandered embattled Eagles head coach Andy Reid. The nominal title for most offensive went to Dave “U.S. Male” Goldstein, the Vorhees, N.J., letter carrier who qualified by eating four pounds of lasagna in five minutes. He decapitated a life-size Styrofoam effigy of the mustachioed coach (with a fully functional guillotine labeled REIDJECTOR and paraded the bloody head around the floor area on a stake. Among the VIPs wandering the grounds were adult-film stars Jenna Jameson, Mary Carey and Ron Jeremy. A live band hammered arena rock standards from the back of the room next to a parade of exotic dancers taking turns on a mechanical bull.

WELCOME TO THE STRIPPER CIRCUS, A LONELY WORLD

It’s also impossible to talk to anyone about Wing Bowl without pointing out that 9 out of 10 people think it’s a joke, an occasion to get drunk at the crack of dawn and see the yearly gathering of strippers show off their breasts. Kobi embraces this circus atmosphere and credits the creators for the base idea, but he won’t let it knock him off his game either.

It’s a bit of a contradiction, how he takes his sport so seriously — “there’s no room to be silly” — yet at the same time realize that his Super Bowl, his World Series Game 7 takes place in a booze-infested stripper-packed arena where fans cheer the loudest for nipples and vomiting. But make no mistake, he’s absolutely serious about eating as a sport. After pointing out that he’s at the top of his craft, considered the best in the world to ever do what he does, Kobi seemed to get a bit philosophical.

Updated: Thursday, 02 Feb 2012, 10:34 PM ESTPublished : Thursday, 02 Feb 2012, 4:50 PM EST
A strange prostitution bust out of Cumberland County involves a 60-year-old woman who made headlines in Philadelphia in 2004.
But it’s how the alleged prostitute lured men to her place that’s really got people talking.
Cops arrested Babette Massaro at her home in Vineland, N.J.
Fox 29 reached out to Massaro for comment at her house after our report first aired on TV.

Police say Massaro had a long history of prostitution, dating back possibly decades.

Police say she used her looks and voluptuous figure to make a pretty good living as a prostitute. But she didn’t quit when most women would have.

Cops in Philadelphia busted her for running a high-class prostitution ring on the Ben Franklin Parkway, in 2004.

Afghan woman killed after birth of a girlFather who wanted a son fled after the killing. Females still are facing subjugation.January 31, 2012|By Amir Shah and Heidi Vogt, Associated Press
KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan woman has been strangled, apparently by her husband, who was upset that she gave birth to a second daughter rather than the son he wanted, police said Monday.
The killing was the latest in a series of grisly examples of subjugation of women that have made headlines in Afghanistan in the last few months – including a 15-year-old tortured and forced into prostitution by in-laws and a female rape victim who was imprisoned for adultery.
The episodes have raised the question of what will happen to the push for women’s rights in Afghanistan as the international presence shrinks along with the military drawdown. NATO forces are scheduled to pull out by the end of 2014.

It has been more than 26 months since Jimmy Koons was knocked unconscious and left bleeding from his ears and head in the parking lot of a Southwest Philadelphia strip club.

“I will definitely be back for the criminal trial,” he said last week. “I want justice, that’s all. I want justice for my friend who got killed. I will be there for Jimmy.”The cases have been continued until Oct. 15 due to the combination of a crowded Philadelphia docket and scheduling conflicts among the attorneys, prosecutors and judge.Pettit’s attorney, Gregory Pagano, expects his client to beat the murder rap.“I don’t think the evidence shows what the charges would require the evidence to show,” he said. “In other words, I don’t think the evidence shows that a murder was committed.”Pagano said Pettit used an appropriate amount of force and claims the video confirms that fact.“I’ve seen it a few times and I think it is consistent with what my client said happened,” he said.At the time of his …

Nutter and Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey should turn this homicide initiative into a flipping game show.
Imagine the person with the information regarding who killed Olabode. I don’t know what that inside info is worth but might Nutter pay out $40,000 for the heads of these assassins.
Imagine a person telling Nutter that he can relinquish Killer No. 1 only if the mayor provides that informant with a new identity. No doubt, in some cases “snitches” will require such protection.
Philadelphia apparently paid out $20,000 for information that helped police solve this month’s murder of a 23-year-old Temple University graduate.
Those arrested in that case were not gangbangers fighting over drugs, prostitution or other vices. Gang members mean business. They keep an eye out for a neighbor who just had a ginormous flat-screen delivery or who pulled up in a new vehicle.
