Strip Club Shooting Victim Dies

PHILADELPHIA – A man shot outside a Philadelphia strip club last week has died from his wounds, and his alleged shooter now faces murder charges.
Kyle Carter, 25, of Philadelphia will be arraigned on the murder charges later today after a 26-year-old man died on Tuesday after he was wounded in a shooting last Thursday.
The Philadelphia Inquirer identified the victim as Erik Thompson Brock of Philadelphia.
The shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. Thursday outside Club Onyx, a gentlemen’s club located on Columbus Boulevard, beneath the Walt Whitman Bridge.
Carter was facing attempted murder charges.
The 26-year-old victim was shot point-blank with a high-caliber bullet at closing time just a few feet from the door.

A man shot outside a South Philadelphia strip club last week has died of his wounds and charges against the man arrested in the attack are expected to be upgraded to murder, police said.
Erik Thompson Brock, 26, of the 1600 block of North 59th Street, West Philadelphia, was shot in the neck about 2:10 a.m. Thursday during an argument outside Club Onyx, 2908 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd.
On Friday, police arrested and charged Kyle Carter, 25, in the shooting.
Police said Brock died of his wounds on Sunday at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Murder charges are pending against Carter, police said.
A 25-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting outside a South Philadelphia strip club was arrested Friday morning, police said.
Kyle Carter was apprehended about 10 a.m. by members of South Detectives and the Major Crimes Violent Crimes Task Force. He is charged with attempted murder and related offenses.

A gunman gave a 26-year-old man five seconds to get off the front steps of a South Philly strip club before shooting him in the neck early yesterday, police said.
Cops responding to Club Onyx, on Columbus Boulevard near Oregon Avenue, about 2:20 a.m. found the man shot outside the club. Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman, said the victim had argued with a security guard, and the gunman approached and joined the confrontation.
Police said that the gunman and the victim then argued, and that the gunman pointed a .45-caliber black handgun at him and “told him that he had five seconds to get off the steps.” After counting down, Little said, the gunman fired, jumped into a white SUV and fled south on Columbus Boulevard. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A 26-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the neck in or near a gentlemen’s club in South Philadelphia early Thursday morning.
The shooting happened at about 2 a.m. at the Onyx strip club along the 2900 block of South Columbus Boulevard.
According to investigators, the victim was shot in the neck and was rushed by police to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he is listed in extremely critical condition.
A spokesman for south detectives says investigators are not sure if the shooting occurred inside or outside the strip club as it was closing for the evening. Witnesses tell police the gunman may have fled in a white Ford Explorer.
Police are currently interviewing employees and potential witnesses.
So far, no arrests have been made.

PHILADELPHIA – A 26-year-old man is in extremely critical condition after being shot in the neck outside a strip club in South Philadelphia.
The shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. Thursday outside Club Onyx, a gentlemen’s club located on Columbus Boulevard, beneath the Walt Whitman Bridge.
At this point, police are not saying what happened leading up to the shooting, but they are looking for the gunman.
The 26-year-old victim was shot point-blank with a high-caliber bullet at closing time just a few feet from the door, and he’s on a ventilator, police said.
Police told FOX 29’s Steve Keeley that this is the second shooting on the property since last winter, and at least the fifth shooting involving people just leaving the business recently, including one on Interstate 95 and another on Oregon Avenue.
Police say a man was critically injured during a shooting at the Club Onyx “urban adult strip club” in South Philadelphia in the early morning hours.
And a second shooting took place inside the El Patio bar in Kensington, with that victim also critically injured from multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting at Club Onyx, on the 2000 block of Columbus Boulevard, occurred about 2:20 a.m.
Police from South Detectives said a 26-year-old man was shot in the neck and taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he was in critical condition.
Initially, police were searching for a black male, about 5-foot-7 tall, and weighing about 150 pounds. He fled south on Delaware Avenue in a newer model white Ford Expedition with Pennsylvania tags.
