Medford’s Mayor Chris Myers mired in controversy after allegations by male escort

 MEDFORD—Mayor Christopher Myers has been accused of soliciting sex from a male escort while on business in California. The person alleging the act remains anonymous and claims the encounter took place in an Orange County hotel room last October.
 A website started by the accuser says Myers paid him $500 for sexual acts but reneged on future promises. He claims Myers asked him about his “story” and he explained how he got into the escort business and how he had dreams of owning a recording studio.   According to the website, Myers said he would purchase a studio and luxury vehicle for the accuser and specifics would be worked out when they met again.

It seems the man said Myers identified himself as a mayor from New Jersey and offered his township identification card and gold ID shield as proof during the early-morning meeting at the Fairmount Hotel in Newport Beach. Even though Myers forcefully denied the man’s claims, the website – www.mayormyers.webs.com – had photos that show a man who clearly appears to be Myers in his underwear lying on a bed, as well as other photos of him and personal IDs. The website has since been taken down. 
Apparently the man wanted to have pictures and photo IDs of Myers as an insurance policy should he be called a liar.
“I believed Mr. Myers’s promises but before leaving I took pictures and video just to make sure someone would believe me if he was proved a liar,” the man said in a graphic account of the meeting.
Believing a politician’s promises is like believing you will become a billionaire by discovering oil in Harlem. So that was the gay prostitute’s mistake.

Sex scandals are no longer surprising — especially when they come from right-wing conservatives and family values preachers. What continues to amaze, though, is the sheer implausibility of the denials that are made in the face of photographic evidence. Chris Myers, the mayor of Medford, N.J., is just the latest example: A male prostitute claiming to have serviced the husband and father of two has publicized images allegedly showing the Republican politician splayed out on a hotel bed in his underoos. In response, Myers pulled a Weiner, so to speak, and claimed that the images are photoshopped to look like him. Then he paradoxically speculated that someone might have snuck into his hotel room and covertly snapped the intimate shots of him.

The Vince Young(notes) signing has looked like a disaster so far for the Philadelphia Eagles. First, Young brought unwanted attention by dubbing them a dream team even though he was merely a backup quarterback. Then, Young got injured and wasn’t able to play until the sixth game of the season. In just his second snap of the season, he threw an interception. Now Young is getting in more trouble. The quarterback is being sued by the owner of a strip club. As an Eagles fan, I can’t wait until Young is out of town.

Young’s strip club incident is pretty dumb on his part. I can’t understand how athletes haven’t learned their lessons about strip clubs. Anytime they go to one, they wind up in a lot of trouble. The best thing that can happen is for the commissioner to slap Young with a nice suspension. At least that will get him out of the hair of Eagles fans. Right now, Young looks like a guy that clearly doesn’t get it. Despite his athletic talent, I have no reason to believe that Young will ever find success in this league again.

Creiton Kinchen claims in a lawsuit filed in a Dallas court Tuesday that the 28-year-old Houston native and former University of Texas star hit him “suddenly and without provocation” at the club.
