As in years past, the Hammer of Glory relay will kick off the beginning of Philly Beer Week on Friday, June 3. Here’s how it works: Starting at 8 a.m., the HOG will be passed—not by car, but by a variety of modes of transportation such as wheelbarrows and strippers—from bar to bar until it reaches the Independence Visitors Center at 6:41ish. There, Mayor Nutter will use it to tap the first official keg of PBW. Hooray!
Not sure how many people have actually done this thing from start to finish, but here’s the complete route if you decide to try:
