Philadelphia police are investigating another reported choking and rape in a neighborhood plagued by a serial strangler, but the cases do not immediately appear linked.
The woman’s description of the man differs from that of the so-called “Kensington Strangler,” linked by DNA to three recent slayings.
Three other women have said they survived attempted sexual assaults in the area known for drugs and prostitution.
And now a fourth woman says she was choked into unconsciousness and raped Wednesday night.
She describes the attacker as a heavy-set Hispanic man, which does not fit the earlier reports.
That’s prompting police to wonder if more than one man could be to blame.

As I’m preparing for my Sunday Morning by listening to all of the pregame shows, I hear that there is a chance for a blizzard in Philly. I was ecstatic, thinking about what type of highlights that Mike Vick would have in a game where snow is falling from the sky like $1 bills in a strip club where Pac Man Jones is visiting. I love any type of snow game, I don’t care who is playing. If Arizona was playing San Francisco in a snow game, it would be the only way I would watch it. PHILADELPHIA — Philadel phia police said a woman found dead in a row house Christmas Eve does not appear to be the victim of a serial strangler plaguing the city.
Police said 25-year-old Crystal Dawejko had not been strangled or physically attacked. Toxicology tests are under way to determine the cause of her death in the city’s Kensington neighborhood.
A $37,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of the so-called “Kensington Strangler.”
Police said DNA links him to three fatal sexual assaults in the neighborhood rife with drugs and prostitution.
Three other women say they were sexually assaulted but survived.

Police are not sure who was behind the false accusations on FaceBook but believe that it may be a vendetta against the victim.  If found, the person who posted could face charges due to the trauma and slander to the man falsely accused and the waste of time and manpower spent investigating the incident.  The resources would have been better used in the search for the Philadelphia serial killer.Women have been warned to not walk alone and police are searching for the killer.
“The task force we’ve put together is sweeping the area, but we caution females in the area not go it alone at any cost,” Evers said.It was determined that the murders were serial killings after DNA from the third crime scene matched the first two.
The homicide victims were originally thought to all be involved in prostitution and narcotics.  Philadelphia news station, WCAU-TV reports that the one victim, Elaine Goldberg, 21, was a nursing student  who attended Gwynedd-Mercy College.

17 year old Nicole Sanchez lives nearby and tells Action News she talked to the owner this morning.
“The lady’s boyfriend left at 11:30 in the morning, and he told Larry she was just sleeping, leave her there. And when Larry went to wake her up she was dead,” said Sanchez.
Sources tell us the building owner rented out rooms. It is a building some neighbors have come to know for illegal activity.
“It’s a home frequently used by drug dealers and prostitutes. Every morning when I wake up to go to work, same thing day in and day out. I’ve been living on this block for eight years, and I’m seriously scared to go out of my house,” said Rebecca Cruz.

On Tuesday night, police announced they are looking for a serial killer after it was determined that DNA found at the scene of the third homicide matched that found at two previous killings.
The partially clothed body of the third victim, Casey Mahoney, 27, was discovered December 15, according to police spokeswoman Jillian Russell. Mahoney had been sexually assaulted and strangled.
Two other women, Elaine Goldberg, 21, and Nicole Piacentini, 35, were killed in November.
Police originally told CNN that all of the homicide victims were involved in prostitution and narcotics, but a Philadelphia TV station, WCAU-TV, has reported that Goldberg was a nursing student who attended Gwynedd-Mercy College.
