By MENSAH M. DEAN Philadelphia Daily News
The second man arrested in connection to the murder of a Chester County businessman in his Old City hotel room pleaded guilty Wednesday morning.
Richard Collins, 20, of Bridgeton, N.J., pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse, theft and conspiracy, stemming from the Oct. 30 slaying of Patrick Michael Brady, 49.
The married father of one daughter was found beaten and strangled in his burning 8th-floor room at the Omni Hotel, 4th and Chestnut streets.
Police have charged a friend of Collins’, transgender prostitute Herman Burton, 22, with the murder and with setting the fire.

Philadelphia Escorts: AIDS Activists Pleased With the Pope
November 22, 2010
After excerpts of the book revealed the pope’s ever-so-slight change of heart about condom use to the Associated Press (different versions suggest the pope permits the use of condoms among only male sex workers, while other versions also include female prostitutes) news headlines around the world began championing the pontiff’s seemingly progressive revelations. Even AIDS activists started shouting amen.
…
Instead, the pope’s reconsideration comes down to a single issue: contraception. Because male prostitutes don’t risk pregnancy, the pontiff advocates that condoms are a fine way to avoid disease (for years birth control and abortion issues have been linked). That’s all well and good. However, this also sends the wrong message to sexually active persons who A.) are not male prostitutes B.) are in a sexual relationship with someone who may be infected C.) are in a sexual relationship with someone who is infected.
Philadelphia Strip Clubs: Congrats to Team ACI, the Winner of the Be Well Philly Office Challenge
November 22, 2010
Our other teams weren’t far behind. The legal team at Fox Rothschild lost a total of 112 pounds, the girls at Thomas Jefferson University Family Center dropped 91 pounds and the voices of the Preston & Steve Show dropped 87âand that was with the constant temptation of the greasy food everyone drops off at their studio in the hopes of a free plug. Intern Jake, WMMR’s tireless intern, who started at a weight of 348, was our second biggest loser: He dropped a total of 32 pounds!
The party was better than I could have hoped. Team member after team member told me how the contest had helped them jump start a healthier lifestyle, brought their offices closer together, and showed them that they didn’t have to waste one more minute feeling tired and unhealthy. They had traded in their old office routine of nonstop sitting for Sweat classes like Strip Tease, and Spinning, and Splash and Burn! They were happy, they were energeticâand they were proud.
Philadelphia Strip Clubs: Monday: Jane Fonda and Frankie Avalon (sort of) + More Philly Sports
November 22, 2010
Though Monday is typically a dark night in the theater, today brings us two notable – and completely different – exceptions. Jersey Boys at the Forrest was an impossible ticket to get just a few weeks back, but if you haven’t already paid scalpers out the wazoo, know that good seats are available for much of the show’s remaining run (through December 12th). For instance, you can pick up a pair for tonight’s 7:30 p.m. performance for anywhere from $54 to $142. Go here to search. And I’ve been hearing some great things about That Pretty Pretty: or the rape play, which shows at 8 p.m. at Christ Church. Basically, it’s strippers, violence, and Jane Fonda. Tickets are $25 and are available here… Elsewhere, it’s the Flyers vs. Canadiens grudge match in South Philly and beer, popcorn, and Swingers at the Troc.

WEST DEPTFORD — A look up and down the roster of the South Jersey Derby Girls shows a variety of tough names — TuTu Toxic, Rainbow Fright and Cinna-Ster to name a few.
As it turns out, behind their 1940s pin-up good looks and rough-and-tumble weekends are some hearts the size of derby tracks. They’ll commemorate the opening of their new Derby Den with an exhibition match on Sunday to benefit the South Jersey Breast Cancer Coalition they’ve dubbed “Best of the Breast.”
Though the den is located in a former warehouse sandwiched between a gentleman’s club and the old Sunoco oil refinery, organizers are touting an afternoon of raucous fun for all to benefit a worthy cause.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — St. Louis overtook Camden, N.J., as the nation’s most dangerous city in 2009, according to a national study released Sunday. The study by CQ Press found St. Louis had 2,070.1 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, compared with a national average of 429.4. That helped St. Louis beat out Camden, which topped last year’s list and was the most dangerous city for 2003 and 2004.
Believers find mixed blessings in Pope’s comments
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Some Catholic believers in the Americas greeted Pope Benedict XVI’s comments on condoms as a sign that the church was stepping into the modern debate in the fight against AIDS, though the church was adamant Sunday that nothing has changed in its views banning contraception. Churchgoers had praise and wariness for the pope’s comments that condoms could be morally justified in some limited situations, such as for male prostitutes wanting to prevent the spread of HIV.
