Nevertheless, every year it’s something else and with conservative national media outlets beginning their offensive against Philadelphia in the hopes they can get us to either begrudgingly not vote again or vote third party (the fate of a 2012 presidency and senate is on the line and we are the Ds in a state full of Rs with the manpower to overrun Pennsyltucky, voting numbers-wise), and the AP taking issue with this already, we assume we’re next.
During a previous War on Christmas (2008), Bill O’Reilly of Fox News primetime fame claimed he and his staff and his network personally saved Christmas. But that was before President Barack Obama came into town to, in the words of potential Bob Casey challenger Marc Scaringi, “transform an independent, prosperous people into dependents and wards of the government.” Now, war is back on and everyone’s invited.
The real war kicked off, perhaps, at this year’s Value Voters Summit which included Delawarian psycho Christine O’Donnell and other presidential aspirants and was sponsored by the Family Research Council, whose co-founder, George Rekers, was found in an airport with a male prostitute last year, haha.

… Camden is the poster child of postindustrial decay,” writes Chris Hedges, the former foreign correspondent for The New York Times. “It stands as a warning of what huge pockets of the United States could turn into as we cement into place a permanent underclass of the unemployed, slash state and federal services in a desperate bid to cut massive deficits, watch cities and states go bankrupt and struggle to adjust to a stark neofeudalism in which the working and middle classes are decimated.” In an article titled “City of Ruins,” Hedges reports that 70 percent of Camden’s high school students drop out, that the city’s unemployment rate is probably 30 to 40 percent, and that its dangerous streets “are filled with the unemployed.”
What is thriving in Camden is prostitution, the drug trade and crime. “There are perhaps a hundred open-air drug markets, most run by gangs like the Bloods, the Latin Kings, Los Nietos and MS-13,” Hedges writes. “Knots of young men in black leather j …

LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Plans for a much-anticipated park-and-ride near Exit 58 of the Garden State Parkway could be delayed – or abandoned – due to Burlington County’s unwillingness to take ownership of part of a deteriorating roadway.
The representatives of the state’s 9th District – state Sen. Christopher Connors, Assemblyman Brian Rumpf and Assemblywoman DiAnne Gove, all R-Ocean, Burlington, Atlantic – held a meeting with state and local officials last week to discuss the status of the project. The delegation wants a controversial Route 539 property – which has been targeted for a strip club and a trash transfer station during the past several years – to be converted into a park-and-ride to make the commute to work safer and easier for area residents.

And now Catholic Culture.org – the TSA of Catholic Journalism – has finally had it “up to here”  with the Vatican newspaper after it published excerpts from the new book called “Light of the World”.  Book snippets that revealed Pope Benedict’s evolving belief that  HIV infected male prostitutes who choose to use condoms perhaps demonstrates a morality superior to those infecting somebody with the deadly virus unprotected, has Lawler and Mirus fit to be tied and insisting that heads should role.

Most Catholics I know saw no huge controversy in the Pope’s statements  – after all Pope Benedict XVI was talking about homosexual prostitutes infected with HIV – which we argue is not a large segment of the Catholic population.   Most folks without the help of Catholic Culture understood the Pope was not talking about teenagers at Catholic schools in the United States.
Philip Lawler then asks “Why didn’t the Vatican publisher warn Pope Benedict that his statement was bound to be distorted? Why didn’t the Pope himself recognize that r …

They didn’t see much of America. What they saw were basically the beautiful limousines and patrol cars. One morning Ringo (Starr) got a state trooper to take him around town in Indianapolis. That was a major moment for him because those opportunities were never really available for them.
The greatest thing about travelling with the Beatles was learning about them. I am working on a project that chronicles all of the years before they made it. It took seven and a half years from the time it took them to get together from the time they really succeeded. Everybody thinks they were an overnight success. There were years of travelling, cleaning toilets, and playing for strippers. The stuff I found out was just unbelievable about their life. I knew them from 1964 on, so that’s why I’m working on this book. I was really interested in finding out how it all began. It almost didn’t happen. It was really a case of a lot of luck and fate.

BRIDGETON – The Bridgeton man charged last week with helping a friend burn the body of a male murder victim in a Philadelphia hotel room pleaded guilty Wednesday.
Richard Collins, 20, of the 100 block of South East Avenue, entered a guilty plea to abuse of a corpse, theft and criminal conspiracy.
The maximum sentence Collins could receive on the above charges ranges from six to 12 years.
Collins was accused of helping another person try to cover up the Oct. 30 slaying of 49-year-old Michael Brady, of Chester County, Pa., inside the Omni Hotel, in the Old City section of Philadelphia.
According to media reports, Philadelphia police earlier this month charged 22-year-old Herman Burton, a transgender prostitute, with killing Brady inside the victim’s hotel room and starting the fire in an attempt to cover up the crime.
