… What’s really compelling about this is no one on the floor above or the floor below called the police department,” Police Director Irving Bradley Jr. said.
Police are conducting interviews and reviewing video surveillance in the building as they seek between five and seven people for the gang rape, along with anyone who drifted in and out of the party. The suspects are between the ages of 15 and 28 years old, sources said.
“People who live in the West State Street, Hermitage Avenue area know who these individuals are,” Juniak said.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office will petition in family court to have the 15-year-old waived up to adult status, a spokesperson for the office said. She faces charges including criminal sexual assault and promoting prostitution. Police say they do not know the exact amount she allegedly sold herself or her sister for.

TRENTON, N.J. — It started with a party invitation to a 15-year-old girl from some men she knew. She took her 7-year-old stepsister to an apartment down the street from their home near the Statehouse, where the girls had been hanging around outside on a Sunday afternoon.
For the younger girl, police say it quickly descended into a horrifying ordeal in which she was gang-raped by as many as seven men as her sister not only watched but got paid by those who did it.
Their parents, none the wiser, thought maybe they had run away.
“We’re talking about a kid who told her sister to go into an apartment and let people rape her,” said Trenton police Capt. Joseph Juniak. “It’s unfathomable.”
The teen has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, promoting prostitution and other crimes. Her name was not released because of her age, but the county prosecutor plans to ask the court to try her as an adult. In the meantime, she is being held at the Mercer County Youth Detention Center.

Just how thorough this “investigation” will be remains to be learned, but since some of the people doing the investigating have fairly checkered pasts of their own, the best guess is: Not Very. Put it this way: neither Stern nor any of Prokhorov’s prospective brethren owners seemed disturbed in the least by the revelations of Sunday’s 60 Minutes episode: * He built his fortune virtually from scratch, largely in the metals trade, in a Yeltsin-era Russia he likens to “the Wild West – a territory with no sheriff”, but maintained it had been at least 15 years since he last bribed a government official.
*In January of 2007 Prokhorov was jailed for four days by French police, who had charged him with promoting prostitution after he flew in a planeload of Russian party girls for the entertainment of two dozen holidaying guests and business associates at Corchevel. (“Now there,” said Nicolas Sarkozy, at the time the French Minister of the Interior, “is a man who wants to please.”)

In a Family Court hearing in front of Judge Robert Reed, Tubal Eduardo stated that he used Noahs money to live off of and buy a car. At this point, the Somerset County Prosecutors Office was notified by Reed.
According to Forrest, bank records for Noahs account revealed eight transfers to Tubal Eduardos account, two overdraft protections to Tubal Eduardos account, two payments for a credit card held by Tubal Eduardo and eight cash withdrawals by Tubal Euardo, totaling more than $10,000.
Forrest stated that all but $114.25 of the $38,000 of charitable donations collected by the PTA, including the $33,000 collected for Noahs benefit, who was only two and half years old at the time of the fire, was spent by Tubal Eduardo, in just over two months. Bank records confirmed that among the purchases Tubal Eduardo made with these charitable funds were liquor, a Range Rover, a $350 spa session, over $1,400 in hotel charges, and more than $7,000 in escort services.

Testimony in the trial started last week in Somerville and the case focused on what became of the funds that were collected by the Weston School Parent Teacher Association. The organization’s president testified that donations poured in from around the country after word spread about the fire that ripped through the dwelling on South Fifth Avenue in Manville on March 12, 2007.
The PTA raised $38,351.24 and divided those funds into two checks, $5,000 for Eduardo and the rest in a check for Noah.
Instead of acting in his son’s best interest, Pollock told jurors Eduardo used all of the money for himself. The $33,351.24 was Noah’s money and Eduardo never had a right to it. Instead of designating it for the child’s future, Eduardo blew all but $114.25 in about 70 days, between September and December of 2007, Pollock said.
The used car was a Range Rover. More than $7,000 went for escort services, and more than $1,400 went for hotel rooms, the prosecutor said.

Police: NJ teen sold stepsister, 7, for party sex
(AP) – 5 hours ago
TRENTON, N.J. — Police in New Jersey’s capital city say a 15-year-old sold her 7-year-old stepsister to have sex with as many as seven men and boys at a weekend party near their home.
Trenton police said Wednesday the child later put on her clothes and two strangers walked the crying girl home. She was treated at a hospital.
Police say the teenager, who stayed behind, also took money to have sex with others at the party in an apartment Sunday.
The older girl is charged with aggravated sexual assault, promoting prostitution and other crimes. Her name was not released because of her age.
Police are trying to track down the men and boys who attended the party.

At some point, the younger girl dressed and left the apartment without her older sister. She was found outside the high-rise apartment building by two women who walked her home. She arrived home about the time the police got to the house. The girls’ parents had called police to report their daughters were missing. When the young girl got home, she told her parents and the police what had happened.
Police believe there were as many as a dozen people at the party. They are currently trying to find the men involved in the incident. They are reviewing surveillance videos to identify any men who might have been there. The person who rents that particular apartment has not lived there in a long while and it’s not known how the party participants go into the apartment.
The teen girl has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, promoting prostitution and other crimes. She is being held in a juvenile facility in Mercer County, New Jersey. Her name is being withheld because she is a minor. However, a prosecutor’s spokeswoman, Casey DeBlasio, said that prosecutors will seek to try her as an adult.

Akin to Adultery  That was Ross Douthat’s
controversial argument in The Atlantic back in 2008. He says society
needs to stop looking at pornography as a harmless substitute for
actual infidelity; infidelity should be approached as a “continuum of
betrayal,” with porn use somewhere on it–it’s still a private sexual
experience (an increasingly custom-tailored and “realistic” one, Douthat
argues) with someone other than one’s partner. It’s prostitution
through a screen, he contends.
Sexist, Exploitative  At Taki’s Magazine, Gavin McInnes
says those performing for the camera do so at a cost. He also thinks
the “odds of [a porn star] having been sexually abused as a child are
about 99.99 percent.” At The Huffington Post, Vivian Norris de Montaigu tells of watching teen mothers turning to stripping and prostitution through desperation.

Yet modern Christian fundamentalists, like most devout wings of any religion or ideology, have flashed a certain narcissism when such realities are pointed out. Rather than policing and correcting their own membership, they act like wounded, cornered animals, lashing out at critics from the outside.
“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church?” Paul asked in 1 Corinthians. “Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside.” But fundamentalist Christians responding to my arguments were readier to whine about how persecuted they are by outsiders than to have an honest discussion about the silliness of their insiders.
Sometimes progress really does happen, especially when it comes to understanding our world. For instance, modern psychology seems to have shown us that the Biblical writers may have not yet fully grasped human nature when they claimed that some people become prostitutes because they just enjoy horse-sized genitalia.
