LONDON (AP) – More than two dozen burlesque performers in London turned out yesterday to protest being classified alongside strippers and lap dancers as “adult entertainers.” Protesters in high heels, stockings and bustiers marched to Camden Council, which governs a large chunk of central London. One organizer says being forced to get an adult entertainment license has “effectively killed burlesque in Camden.” Camden Council says it is not trying to stop burlesque acts, but any performance involving stripping or nudity is classed as adult entertainment and requires a license.

HOME STRIP CLUB LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) – Turns out authorities don’t think a Georgia woman was running an illegal strip club in her home. A spokesman for Gwinnett police says an officer wrote in a report that he found what appeared to be a strip club when investigating a noise complaint at Constance Trahan’s home. But police officials say no evidence of dancers or of a strip club were ever found or confirmed. However, the officer says they did find a sign reading “1 Dollar Jello Shots” and minors drinking alcohol. Trahan still faces a misdemeanor charge of maintaining a disorderly house.

MORE than 100 burlesque dancers have taken to the streets of London in protest at one borough’s decision to class them alongside strippers and lap dancers.
Camden council has banned clubs from hosting the glamorous performances, in which women remove some – but not all – of their clothes unless they apply for an adult entertainment licence.
But after dancers from across the country marched on Camden Town Hall this afternoon, officials agreed to meet them to review the situation.
The row began earlier this year when the Proud Gallery in Stables Market was told it needed to be licensed for adult entertainment after three years of running the popular Be burlesque night.
Alex Proud, the club’s owner, said: “It’s unbelievable. Burlesque is not about naked women. It’s about the art of removing clothes. It’s nearer to theatre or dance than erotica. Proud is a million miles away from a strip club.”

LONDON    More than two dozen burlesque performers have marched through London to protest a municipal council’s decision to classify them as “adult entertainers” alongside strippers and lap dancers.
Protesters in high heels, stockings and bustiers marched Wednesday from the burlesque club Coco de Mer to the headquarters of Camden Council, which governs a large chunk of central London.
Organizer Amelia Austin said the burden of getting an adult entertainment license has “effectively killed burlesque in Camden.”
Camden Council says it is not trying to stop burlesque acts, which can include readings and poetry as well as risque performances.
But it says any performance involving stripping or nudity is classed as adult entertainment and requires a license.

Michael Dolan, 30, of the 200 block of Aldrin Drive, Whitpain, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to charges of unlawful contact with a minor for purposes of prostitution and corruption of a minor in connection with incidents that occurred in April 2008 with a 15-year-old girl.
Dolan faces a possible maximum sentence of 1 ½- to-3-years in state prison on the charges. Judge Thomas P. I am trying to think of another time in history where man was so destructive towards Mother Nature, and I simply cannot think of one. Whether it is European conquest or conquest through European ideas and philosophy one can see the consequences where ever one goes.
Some of the nicer places on Earth had little contact with the West, and some of the ugliest had the most. China as the West’s little worker buddy has turned its landscape into a polluted hell on earth. I’ll admit it was several years ago when I went there, but I will never forget the complete torture Nature endured under their reign. Other places were turned into broiling pits of prostitution where US armies had maintained a presence. Thailand always had some tea houses on the edge of town, but prostitution did not upend their entire culture until the Vietnam era.

In an explosive new report, Kate Major, the latest woman to be linked to Jon Gosselin, has been accused of being a high-priced call girl!
According to Steppin’ Out magazine columnist Chaunce Hayden, Major worked as an escort in Los Angeles and wanted to find work after moving to New York. Hayden even claims that Kate asked for an introduction to former madam Kristin Davis.
Davis confirms to “Extra” that the ex-reporter did ask for advice on how to break into the New York escort business, and claims that Major was making up to $1,500 per hour in California. Davis never met with Kate — then a reporter for Star magazine — thinking she may have been doing research for a story.
Kate has denied the claim that she worked as a call girl, telling the NY Daily News that the report is “pathetic, sick, and all lies. By no means would I ever have ‘escort’ in my vocabulary.”

Kate Major is No Major Prostitute
BY: Actress Archives   |   Monday, July 27, 2009
She may be escorting Jon Gosselin all over the Hamptons, but that doesn’t mean that former gossip reporter Kate Major was ever actually an escort. Major is hitting back at Steppin’ Out magazine columnist Chaunce Hayden who claims that back in January, Major once insinuated to him that she was a call girl. Major says the whole thing is absolute nonsense. We guess just because she has incredibly questionable taste in men doesn’t mean she has all-around questionable judgment.
According to the Daily News, Major – who recently stepped down from her position at Star in order to pursue a relationship with Jon Gosselin – asked Hayden if he had “contacts with money who… how can I say this?… want the company of an attractive blond for the evening and have the cash to afford it?”
