Philadelphia Adult Entertainment: The case against Mumia Abu-Jamal is ballistically impossible (new …
June 30, 2009
Veronica Jones was working as a prostitute at the crime scene on December 9, 1981. She first told police on December 15, 1981 that she had seen two men “jogging” away from the scene before police arrived. As a defense witness at the 1982 trial, Jones denied having made that statement; however, later in her testimony she started to describe a pre-trial visit from police, where “They were getting on me telling me I was in the area and I seen Mumia, you know, do it. They were trying to get me to say something that the other girl [Cynthia White] said. I couldn’t do that.” Jones then explicitly testified that police had offered to let her and White “work the area if we tell them” what they wanted to hear regarding Abu-Jamal’s guilt.
Judge Thomas C. Branca, who accepted a plea agreement in the case, said Formato must serve the sentence on 45 consecutive weekends beginning July 12.
Court documents indicate that the extortion attempt began on Jan. 22, 2008, after the massage therapy business owner interviewed a woman to work for him. As part of the interview process, the businessman asked the woman to provide him with a massage to determine if she was suitable for employment, according to the criminal complaint.
About an hour after the employment interview ended, the business owner got a phone call from a man who identified himself as “Larry” and as the boyfriend of the woman who applied for the masseuse job.
“Larry” was very irate and repeatedly accused the business owner of operating a house of prostitution and taking advantage of the female job applicant, according to the arrest affidavit filed by Lower Providence Detective Terrence Kennedy.
Philadelphia Adult Entertainment: 11-year-old raped on way to school – Philadelphia Inquirer
June 25, 2009
Perez, 23, who lives on the street, said she’s been shaken up. Her own 5-year-old female cousin was raped by an older man a year and a half ago.
“I don’t understand how men could look at little girls like that,” she said. “Why would they picture them that way.”
William Nieves, whose front doorstep overlooks the narrow corridor where the little girl was dragged into, said that part of him believes he could have done something to stop it.
“It was a matter of timing,” he said. “I usually walk through there to put out the trash in the morning, but I didn’t want to bang my leg up, so I went around.”
He said the slim alley is a go-to destination for drug users and prostitutes who leave syringes and condoms in their wake.
The family of four moved in with Ms. Sweeten’s two daughters from her first marriage, Julia, 9, and Paige, 15. Eight months ago, she gave birth to another daughter, Faith, after spending tens of thousands of dollars on fertility treatments, police said.
With Ms. Sweeten handling the family finances, her husband has said, he had no idea what was going on with their money.
Ms. Sweeten’s Facebook page gives a peek at her life as a busy suburban mom. She says she loves to shop with her daughters and go snow mobiling with friends in Colorado. Her favorite TV show is “Top Chef” and her favorite movie is “Pretty Woman,” about a prostitute who falls in love with a wealthy man. She doesn’t like to read “at all,” and always tells her two older daughters to “make good choices.”

Emmaus is the Morning Call girls soccer team of the year
By Tim Shoemaker | SPECIAL TO THE MORNING CALL June 7, 2009
Emmaus girls soccer coach Rob Rooney woke up on the morning of April 25 with his team at a crossroads.
The Green Hornets were coming off a 3-1 loss to Easton, a setback that turned out to be their only Lehigh Valley Conference loss of the season, and then had to get on a bus to Council Rock North, where they fell behind 1-0.
Emmaus (21-3-2) rallied to beat CR North 3-1 and start a trend and a winning streak. The Hornets, this year’s Morning Call girls soccer team of the year, won 11 straight to reach the PIAA Class 3A semifinals, doing so in dramatic fashion along the way.

Philadelphia Adult Entertainment: Sahin guilty of all counts in rapes of women – The News Journal
June 25, 2009
Just before closing arguments today, Sahin took the stand to declare that, yes, he had used a knife to force prostitutes to have sex with him.
But, he told Superior Court Judge Jan Jurden, he did not rape any of the eight women who testified against him during the week-long bench trial.
He testified, through a translator, that he had not seen any of them until they came into the courtroom to accuse him of rape. This despite the fact that Sahin’s DNA was found on two of the victims.
…
He is charged with nine counts of first-degree rape, weapons charges and one count of aggravated menacing. Prosecutors dropped at least as many charges against Sahin at the start of the trial, due to the lack of availability of many victims to testify. Nearly all are, or had been, prostitutes, though at least one victim who testified against Sahin said she just accepted a ride from Sahin before he assaulted her.

… I am currently “Off” the market. However, I’m only 24 years old, and not married and still living life to its fullest potential. Yes, I have a great man at home. But for fun, let’s say I was single and looking. I’d want a guy that was sexy “Beyond” the physical. Someone who has a great smile, knows how to treat a lady, spontaneous on a sexual level and most importantly had his stuff together. Nothing turns me off more than a guy who need’s serious training on how to be a man!

: That I’m a stripper. Not to knock the exotic dancers out there, but that has never nor will it ever be my angle. I am a Go-Go dancer/Model. If you need a description of the technical term, grab a dictionary. Shout out to

At this point, Dave should have been the crotchety old man weve grown to love over the years. No holds barred. Bunkering down. Ignoring the naysayers and going on with his show.
Yet, this is a new age. A Fire Dave Letterman activist group has sprung up overnight (someones got to complain about something) and has posted this to CBS advertisers: On June 8th 2009 Mr. Letterman joked that a female Governor of the United States is slutty and worse still, joked about her 14 yearold daughter and statutory rape by an adult baseball player. He continued his slander of this young girl during his June 9th show, likening her to a prostitute. I refuse to buy products from a company who supports such a vulgar, reprehensible attitude toward women and girls.
